Scientific and educational mission of UniSat: acquisition, processing and analysis of data using the SomSat nanosatellite

On May 8, 2022, we all watched with bated breath how 20 girls from different regions of Uzbekistan launched a nanosatellite in the Navoi region as part of the UniSat educational program (Uni – UNICEF, Sat – satellite). The SomSat nanosatellite reached an altitude of about 12 km and, in a three-hour flight, collected almost all intended data on pressure, pollution and air humidity in a particular region.

After the hard work of the program participants and trainers, a research paper was written that describes the entire design of the mission system and process, discusses the data collected, and presents the main results of the flight.

The document with the research results can be downloaded from the link: The research paper

Any girl 15 to 24 years old, from any region of Uzbekistan, can become a member of the UniSat Uzbekistan program. Applications for the new program will begin in the fall of 2022.
