Opening event of the UniSat 2.0 program in Tashkent

On November 28, the Ministry of Innovative Development hosted the opening ceremony of the UniSat 2.0 STEM project for girls.

Girls aged 15-24 from all regions of Uzbekistan, who applied for the program, will be able to improve their knowledge in coding, radio electronics, data analysis, astronomy, climate change, 3D modeling and engineering, as well as gain skills in teamwork and project management.

In the final stage of the UniSat 2.0. program 20 girls, the finalists with the highest ranking, will participate in a practical course of assembling CubeSat in Tashkent. 

The launch of nanosatellite into the stratosphere is scheduled for April 12, 2023.

We have shared the rules and stages of the program, awarded prizes from the speakers for the most active participation and networked with new participants and mentors.

  • Shahlo Turdikulova: Deputy Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan
  • Jeffrey Ijumba: Deputy Head of UNICEF Office in Uzbekistan
  • Dmitry Shnol: honorary teacher of Russia, mathematician, teacher, academic director of Oxbridge school
  • Nurjamal Berdalieva: astronomer, physicist, teacher, works at the Astronomical Institute of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences
  • Evgeniy Sklyarevskiy: science popularizer, journalist
